Technology in music has made it much more entertaining and complex than it used to be. In the beginning all we had available was our voices and simple stringed instruments. now we have electric and acoustic guitars, horns, drums, generated sounds, and much more. The generated sounds offer up thousands of sounds for whatever you want and sounds the best with its nearly unlimited customization. People had to rely on their stringed instrument to get tempo and rhythm while now we have many instruments that cooperate to move the song along and make awe inspiring sounds when heard together.
